| The Hong Kong Exporters' Association welcomes the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC)'s decision to establish a Secretariat of its International Court of Arbitration in Hong Kong and believes the move recognises the growing importance of Hong Kong as a trading hub on the world scene but also its firmly established tradition of judicial and political independence. | |
| We are particularly pleased that Hong Kong is now the base for the first Asia team's activities. With the presence in Hong Kong, ICC arbitration is more accessible to commercial operators in Hong Kong, China and Asia. Hence Hong Kong's leading position in commerce and arbitrary will be further strengthened. | |
| The Hong Kong Exporters' Association is one of the supporting organisations for the establishment of the Court Secretariat and is among the signatories to the appeal. | |
