The 51st Annual General Meeting (AGM) of The Hong Kong Exporters’ Association (HKEA) took place at Langham Hotel in Tsim Sha Tusi on 1 September 2005 and came to a successful end. 15 individuals with the highest votes were elected as voting members of the General Committee according to the HKEA’s Memorandum and Articles of Association.

Before the meeting commenced, Mr Cliff K. Sun extended his congratulations to the Honorary Chairman, Mr Willy Lin, who had received the honorable title of the “Silver Bauhinia Star” and to two General Committee members, Mr Edmund Young and Mr Tom Tang, for having been awarded the honourable titles of the “Bronze Bauhinia Star” and “Justice of the Peace” respectively by the Government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region for their distinguished and tremendous contributions to Hong Kong’s industry.

The Annual Report 2004 and the Audited Financial Statement of the Association for the year ended 31st December 2004 were approved and endorsed by the members at the eeting. The General Committee also re-appointed CCIF CPA Limited as the Association’s honorary auditor at the meeting for the financial year 2005. The Association also resolved that the membership fee in year 2006 would be maintained at the current level at HK$2,500 for full members and HK$1,600 for associate members on top of a one-off entrance fee of HK$1,000.

In the 1st General Committee Meeting of the term 2005/2006, the new General Committee elected Mr Tom Tang to be the new Chairman for the HKEA 51st General Committee and appointed Mr Cliff K. Sun to be Honorary Chairman of the Association to recognize his tremendous contributions to the HKEA during his terms of service as Chairman in the last 4 years.
