| Chairman of the HKEA, Mr. Tom Tang, said:
"We are experiencing an unprecedented financial recession and shrinking market demand, however, it is during these difficult times that the HKEA has a duty, more than ever, to help Hong Kong exporters prepare to confront the challenges
ahead." |
| Mr. Tang encouraged HKEA members to adopt a proactive approach to explore more business opportunities, particularly in emerging markets, by taking advantage of these incentive packages. |
| To bring more business opportunities to Hong Kong exporters and help them run their businesses more efficiently, the HKEA will continue to explore potential
emerging markets and their trade fairs, and organize practical workshops and seminars. |
| Despite the slackening economy, the HKEA will not shy away from organizing trade activities in potential markets such as Dubai, Japan, Malaysia and India. At the end of this February, the HKEA will join hands with the HKTDC to lead a business mission to explore the Indonesian market. Meanwhile, the emerging Russian market remains the focus of the HKEA, which will continue to lead Hong Kong companies to exhibit in a trade fair in Moscow in March and September. |
